System Check
1. With ambient air temperature above 70°F, open all doors, start vehicle and set A/C mode selector, if equipped, to MAX position. Coolant fan should turn on in a short period of time.
2. With engine coolant below operating temperature, move A/C selector to OFF position. Coolant fan should turn off in a short period of time.
3. Run engine at fast idle for several minutes. Coolant fan should turn on before coolant temperature indicator comes on or coolant temperature gauge needle reaches HOT.
4. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Coolant fan should turn off on VINs U and D or continue to run until engine coolant temperature lowers on VIN M.
