Precaution on Shaft Seal
Shaft seal should not be replaced if only small amounts of oil are noted on adjacent surfaces. Shaft seal should only be replaced if a large amount of sprayed oil is observed, and then only after actual refrigerant leakage is found using an approved leak test procedure. If compressor seal must be replaced, the accumulator in systems using this compressor must also be removed in order to properly gauge the amount of oil that must be added to the system.
