Oil Pan: Service and Repair

Fig. 15 Oil Pan Replace:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then remove catalytic converter hanger bolts.
3. Detach transmission oil cooler lines from oil pan clips, if equipped.
4. Place crankshaft damper timing mark at the 7 O'clock position.
5. Drain crankcase, then remove flywheel dust cover, if equipped.
6. Disconnect exhaust crossover pipe from exhaust manifolds.
7. Remove engine mount through bolts, then raise engine slightly permit oil pan removal using a suitable lifting device.
8. Remove oil pan attaching bolts, then remove oil pan, Fig. 15.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
