Instrument Cluster Replacement

Fig. 20 Instrument Cluster:

1. To avoid personal injury when servicing models equipped with Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (Airbag) System, temporarily disarm system. Refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts/Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems)/Service and Repair.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove right and left lower trim plates.
3. Remove instrument cluster trim plate.
4. Remove cluster attachment screws, pull cluster back and disconnect speedometer cable, Fig. 20.
5. Disconnect necessary electrical connections.
6. Remove trip odometer reset knob, if equipped, then cluster lens.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
8. After completing service procedure activate Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (Airbag) System. Refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
