Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL:

1. Disconnect the TPS electrical connector.
2. Remove the two TPS attaching screws and retainers.
3. Remove the throttle position sensor.

INSTALLATION:

1. With the throttle valve in the normal closed idle position, install the throttle position sensor on the throttle body assembly, making sure the TPS pickup lever is located ABOVE the tang on the throttle actuator lever.
2. Install the retainers and two attaching screws using thread locking compound on the screws, Loctite 262, GM Part No. 1052624, or equivalent should be used.
