Fig. 3 Shift Linkage Adjustment. Camaro & Firebird:

1. Place transmission control lever in Neutral position.
2. Loosen cable attaching nut(s) or bolt(s) at shift lever Fig. 3.
3. Rotate shift lever clockwise to the Park detent, then back to the Neutral detent.
4. Torque cable attaching nuts or bolts to 11 lb ft Control lever must be held in position when tightening nut.
5. Check cable adjustment by rotating transmission control lever through each detent position.
