Coolant Cavity Cover



Model B130 Throttle Body Assembly:




Throttle Body Removal:





REMOVAL:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Partially drain the radiator, to allow the coolant hoses to be removed from the throttle body.
3. Remove the air cleaner to throttle body duct.
4. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the IAC valve and the TPS.
5. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the top of the throttle body.
6. Remove the accelerator cable bracket attaching nut and bolt.
7. Disconnect and remove the throttle, cruise, and transmission control cables.
8. Remove the power brake vacuum hose from the throttle body.
9. Remove the throttle body attaching bolt and stud.
10. Loosen the throttle body from the manifold.
11. Remove the coolant lines from the coolant cavity cover.
12. Remove the throttle body, gasket and coolant line O-rings.
13. Remove the coolant cavity cover attaching screws.
14. Remove the coolant cavity cover and O-ring, discard the O-ring.
15. Clean the O-ring sealing surfaces.
16. Inspect the sealing surfaces for corrosion or damage that could cause a coolant leak. Replace the coolant cavity or throttle body if necessary.

INSTALLATION:

1. Lubricate the new coolant cavity cover to throttle body O-ring with ethylene glycol antifreeze.
2. Install the O-ring in the throttle body.
3. Position the coolant cavity cover in place and hold.
4. Install the coolant cover attaching screws, and tighten to 1.0 Nm (9.0 lb.in).
5. Lubricate new coolant line O-rings with ethylene glycol antifreeze and install on the coolant lines.
6. Position the throttle body next to the manifold and connect the coolant lines.
7. Install a new throttle body gasket.
8. Install the throttle body attaching bolt and stud, and tighten to 26.0 Nm (19 lb.ft).
9. Connect the power brake vacuum hose to the throttle body.
10. Connect the throttle, cruise and transmission control cables to the throttle body.
11. Install the accelerator cable bracket attaching bolt and nut, and tighten:
^ Nut to 25.0 Nm (18 lb.ft).
^ Bolt to 12.0 Nm (106 lb.in).
12. Connect the vacuum hoses to the top of the throttle body.
13. Connect the electrical connectors to the IAC valve and the TPS.
14. Install the air cleaner to the throttle body duct.
15. Refill the radiator.
16. Connect the negative battery cable.
17. With the engine OFF, check to see that the accelerator pedal is free. Depress the pedal to the floor and release.
18. Reset the IAC valve pintle position:
a. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (engine OFF).
b. Ground the diagnostic "test" terminal for five seconds.
c. Remove the ground.
d. Turn the ignition OFF for ten seconds.
e. START the engine and check for proper idle operation.
