Engine Mount: Service and Repair

FRONT
1. Remove air cleaner assembly.
2. Disconnect engine torque strut.
3. Install engine support tool Nos. J-28467, J-28467-90 and J-36462, or equivalent.
4. Raise and support vehicle.
5. Remove right front tire and wheel assembly.
6. Remove righthand engine splash shield.
7. Drain engine oil into a suitable container and remove oil filter.
8. Remove front engine mount nuts at mount bracket and frame, Fig. 1.
9. Install drive axle boot protector and lower vehicle.
10. Raise engine.
11. Raise and support vehicle.
12. Remove front mount.
13. Reverse procedure to install.

REAR
1. Remove air cleaner assembly and disconnect engine torque strut.
2. Install engine support tool Nos. J-28467, J-28467-90 and J-36462, or equivalent, then raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove right front tire and wheel assembly, righthand engine and drive axle splash shields.
4. Install drive axle boot protector.
5. Remove engine mount nuts at frame.
6. Lower vehicle and raise engine.
7. Raise and support vehicle.
8. Remove power rack and pinion mounting bolts and hang rack on frame.
9. Disconnect right ball joint from lower control arm.
10. Install a suitable jack under righthand side of frame.
11. Remove righthand frame mounting bolts.
12. Loosen lefthand frame mounting bolts.
13. Lower righthand side of frame approximately three inches.
14. Remove upper engine mount nuts at mount.
15. Remove mount.
16. Reverse procedure to install.
