Models W/Automatic Transaxles
1. Relieve fuel system pressure as outlined under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELIEF.
2. Remove air cleaner assembly.
3. Mark and remove hood assembly.
4. Disconnect battery ground cable and drain cooling system.
5. Discharge A/C system and remove coolant recovery tank.
6. Remove heater hoses from engine.
7. Disconnect engine torque strut mount and stud.
8. Disconnect and remove engine cooling fans.
9. Remove radiator hoses from engine.
10. Disconnect control cables from bracket and throttle body.
11. Disconnect bulkhead connections from cowl.
12. Disconnect fuel lines from engine.
13. Remove exhaust crossover pipe.
14. Remove lower transaxle to engine bolts including ground wires.
15. Remove power steering pump from engine and position aside.
16. Disconnect EGR pipe from EGR valve.
17. Raise and support vehicle.
18. Remove right tire and wheel assembly then the right splash shield.
19. Disconnect A/C manifold from A/C compressor.
20. Remove flywheel and steel torque converter inspection covers then starter.
21. Remove front exhaust pipe and converter.
22. Disconnect motor mounts as outlined under MOUNTS.
23. Disconnect electrical connections at front and rear of engine then from alternator.
24. Remove torque converter bolts.
25. Remove right ball joint bolt and separate joint from control arm.
26. Remove drive axle assembly.
27. Lower vehicle.
28. Support transaxle using a suitable jack and install lifting device on engine.
29. Disconnect quick connects near ECM.
30. Remove remaining transaxle to engine bolts.
31. Disconnect necessary vacuum lines from rear of engine.
32. Remove engine assembly.
33. Reverse procedure to install.
