Camshaft Timing Belt/ Timing Procedure
Tool Required
- J36660 Torque Angle Meter
Remove or Disconnect
1. Camshaft timing belt tensioner.
2. If the belt is to be used again, mark the direction of rotation.
3. Tensioner pulley/arm assembly.
4. Timing belt, by carefully sliding it off the pulleys. DO NOT bend, kink, twist, or pry on belt as damage may occur.
- "Kinking" is folding belt so that the diameter at any point is less than 60 mm (2.36 inches).
Inspect
- Belt teeth and back side of belt for cracks, tears, or other damage. Replace the belt if any of these conditions are found.
