Generator Shim - 3.4L Engine.:

Generator Mounting:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Air cleaner assembly.
2. Negative battery cable.
3. Coolant recovery reservoir and set aside.
4. Serpentine belt.
5. Power steering pipe retaining clip nut from upper generator stud and remove generator stud.
6. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
7. Right front tire and wheel assembly.
8. Separate lower ball joint from lower control arm.
9. Drive axle from transaxle.
10. Right-hand engine splash shield.
11. Connectors and wires from generator.
12. Pencil brace bolt from generator and loosen brace at engine block.
13. Generator lower mounting bolt and generator.


INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Generator and loosely install all mounting bolts. Tighten Generator lower mounting bolt to 83 Nm (61 ft lb).

^ If replacement generator does not fit, remove adhesive-backed shim from rear generator bracket (see figure).

2. Connector and wires to generator.
3. Right-hand engine splash shield.
4. Drive axle to transaxle.
5. Lower ball joint to lower control arm.
6. Tire and wheel assembly.
7. Lower vehicle.
8. Power steering pipe retaining clip nut to upper generator stud.
9. Serpentine belt.
10. Coolant recovery reservoir.
11. Negative battery cable. Tighten Cable to 15 Nm (11 ft lb).
12. Air cleaner assembly.
