Subject: FRONT LOWER FASCIA FLUTTER (INSTALL REINFORCING BRACKETS)

Models 1991 GRAND PRIX COUPE
Affected: WITH B4U OPTION


Application: 1991 Grand Prix Coupe With B4U Appearance Package.

Condition: Customers may comment of noise/vibration from front of vehicle or front lower fascia flutter (usually at speeds over 40 MPH).

Cause: Front lower fascia lacks support in center section.

Correction: Install lower fascia support brackets as follows:

Parts Required:

1 Left Support Bracket - P/N 10203181
1 Right Support Bracket - P/N 10203182
2 J-Nuts - P/N 12337917
2 Bolts - P/N 11508128

Procedure:

1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove and discard plastic push-in fastener from A/C condenser side bracket. Figure 1 shows a bolt in this location.
3. Remove bolt shown in Figure 2 and corresponding J-nut.
4. Install 2 J-nuts on stabilizing bracket at hole locations. The threaded portion should be located outboard of the bracket on the upper hole, and below the bracket on the lower hole.
5. Position bracket on vehicle as shown in Figure 1 and install bolts.


Note: Upper bolt passes through A/C condenser side bracket, condenser side baffle, and then stabilizing bracket. Lower bolt passes through front lower fascia, front fascia, and then stabilizing bracket.

6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 for opposite side of vehicle.
7. Lower vehicle.
