Rocker Arm Cover - Left
Roker Arm Cover:
Remove or Disconnect
1. Air cleaner assembly.
2. Negative battery cable.
3. Drain and recover coolant. For additional procedures refer to Cooling System / Service and Repair / Draining and Refilling. Service and Repair
4. Ignition wire clamps from coolant tube.
5. Coolant tube mount at head.
6. Coolant tube at each end.
7. Coolant tube hose at water pump.
8. Coolant tube.
9. Tube from valve cover to air inlet.
10. Ignition wire guide.
11. Rocker arm cover.
NOTE If cover adheres to cylinder head, remove by bumping end of rocker arm cover with palm of hand or soft rubber mallet.
12. Clean sealing surface on cylinder head and valve cover with degreaser.
Install or Connect
1. New gasket and new bolt grommets.
NOTE Make sure gasket is seated properly in valve cover groove.
2. Sealer GM P/N 1052917 (or equivalent) in notch.
3. Rocker arm cover and tighten bolts to 10 Nm (89 lbs. in.)
4. Ignition wire guide.
5. Tube from valve cover to air inlet.
6. Coolant tube.
7. Coolant tube hose at water pump.
8. Coolant tube at each end.
9. Coolant tube mount at head.
10. Ignition wire clamps at coolant tube.
11. Fill cooling system. For additional procedures refer to Cooling System / Service and Repair / Draining and Refilling. Service and Repair
12. Negative battery cable and torque bolt to 15 Nm ( 11 ft.lb. ).Refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction / Service and Repair / Idle Learn Procedure. Service and Repair
13. Air cleaner assembly. .
14. Inspect for proper fluid levels, oil leaks, and completion of repair.
