Camshaft Gear/Sprocket: Service and Repair
Fig. 7 Camshaft Gear Removal:
1. Remove timing belt cover as previously described.
2. Remove air cleaner assembly, then disconnect breather hoses from valve cover.
3. Remove valve cover attaching bolts and the cover.
4. Remove timing belt.
5. Hold camshaft with a suitable wrench, then remove bolt, washer and camshaft sprocket, Fig. 7.
6. Remove retaining bolt and washer, then the crankshaft pulley and sprocket.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Align mark on camshaft sprocket with mark on rear timing belt cover.
b. Tighten camshaft gear attaching bolt and crankshaft sprocket retaining bolt to torque listed under SPECIFICATIONS
