CODE 34
DUAL POLE ARMING SENSOR FEED OPEN
Test Condition:
Tested once each igintion cycle during initial "Turn-on" Tests before either "36VLR" output is active.
Failure Conditions:
Code 34 sets under the following conditions and once set, fault remains set for the duration of the ignition cycle.
1. The "Driver 36VLR" and "Passenger 36VLR" outputs (A3 and A4) are both less than "IGNITION 1" voltage (-4.5 volts).
2. Neither "Driver 36VLR" nor Passenger "36VLR" output (A4 or A3) is yet active.
3. The "Driver Source Sense" input (A5) and "Pass Source Sense" input (A6) are less than "IGNTION 1" voltage (-3.34 volts).
Condition To Clear:
Current Code 34 clears under the following conditions:
1. Ignition Switch is cycled to "OFF."
2. The "Driver 36VLR" and "Passenger 36VLR" outputs (A3 and A4) are both less than "IGNTION 1" voltage (-4.5 volts).
3. Neither "Driver 36VLR" nor "Passenger 36VLR" output (A4 and A3) is yet active.
4. The "Driver Source Sesne" input (A5) and "Pass Source Sense: input (A6) are equal to "IGNITION 1" voltage (+2 volts, -3.34 volts).
Action Take:
DERM turns on the "INFLATABLE RESTRAINT" indicator lamp.
Desctiption:
Upon passing the test for Code 14 (Dual Pole Arming Sensor Disconnected), Code 34 sets if the failure conditions were present at initial "Turn-On" Tests. When the test for Code 14 fails, Code 34 does not set. If neither the fault nor clear conditions are met, the state of the fault during the previous ignition cycle is used. Code 34 indicates an open in the "IGNITION 1" circuit feeding the Dual Pile Arming Sensor.
Notes on Fault Tree:
1. Checks whether "IGNITION 1" voltage is present at the Dual Pole Arming Sensor.
2. Checks for proper connector terminal contact at the Dual Pole Arming Sensor's ignition feed. Refer to "Intermittents and Poor Connections to properly check terminals .
3. Checks Dual Pole Arming Sensor circuitry for an open by measuring for proper voltage.
