Universal Theft Deterrent System (UTD)

^ Go to system diagnosis for diagnostic tests.


TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS:

^ Try the following checks before doing the system check.
1. Check fuse 3 of the relay center by observing courtesy lights.
2. Check fuse 16 by observing instrument cluster indicators.
3. Check fuse 11 by operating the front cigar lighter.
4. Check circuit breaker 23 by operating sport seats.
5. Visually check in-line fuses A and B.
6. If the ignition key warning is set off by all doors, replace the theft deterent diode (see schematic).
7. If the theft deterrent system is operating properly except for the remote keyless entry funtions, diagnose the keyless entry system.


NOTE: To reduce alarm noise, muffle the vehicle horns with rags. Put all windows fully down before testing.
