Activating the Theft Deterrent Feature
ANTI-THEFT FEATURE (U1A)Delco-Loc II is a security feature which can be used or ignored. If ignored, the radio plays normally. If used, the radio will be unusable if stolen, because it will not turn on.
The following instructions tell how to enter a security code into the radio. Then, if battery power is lost for any reason, the security code must be entered again before the radio will turn on.
1. Write down any six-digit number and keep in a safe place.
2. Turn ignition lock cylinder to "ACCY" or "ON" position.
3. Press "PWR" button to turn radio off.
4. Press preset buttons 1 and 4 together and hold until "---', shows on the display.
You are now ready to enter your six-digit security code Do not wait more than 15 seconds between each step.
5. Press "SET" and "000" appears on the display.
6. Press "SEEK" up or down and hold until the first digit of your code appears.
7. Turn "TUNE" to the right or left and hold until the second and third digits appear.
8. Press "BAND" and "000" appears, you can now enter the last three digits of your code.
9. Press "SEEK" up or down and hold until the fourth digit of your code appears.
10. Turn "TUNE" and hold until the fifth and sixth digits of the code appears.
11. Press "BAND"; "REP" appears for 5 seconds, then "000" appears.
12. Repeat Steps 6 through 11. "SEC" will then be seen on the display, meaning your radio is secured.
To disengage the security feature, repeat Steps 5-11. "---" will again appear instead of "SEC," the radio is unsecured.
