Test A: Air Valve Operation Test

A/C Valve Position Chart:

(C61) Air Delivery:

Check the operation of the air valves using the following chart. Put Fan Switch in HI to give a strong flow of air (engine warm and running at idle).

Note: The letters in the chart correspond to the valve positions shown in the vacuum diagram.

^ If the test indicates only one valve is not operating correctly, make the following checks:
- Air valve and vacuum actuator move freely.
- Vacuum hose is connected and not pinched.
- Vacuum is present when valve is moved from rest position. If vacuum is not present, replace the A/C Mode Selector.
^ If none of the valves operate, check for vacuum at the Violet hose to the Heater and A/C Control Assembly.
