Date: October, 1995

Subject:
Erratic Operation of the Fuel Gauge during Quick Driving Maneuvers (Install Anti-Slosh Module)

Models:
1992-95 Pontiac Bonneville
with instrument Cluster (RPOs U2E or UB3)

CONDITION

Some owners may comment that the fuel gauge may appear to be operating erratically during quick driving maneuvers.

CAUSE

As indicated in the Owner's Manual, some fuel gauge movement is normal during acceleration, deceleration and cornering due to fuel slosh in the gas tank.

CORRECTION

Contact Pontiac Technical Assistance to determine if corrective action is necessary.

To correct this condition, the installation of an anti-slosh module will be required. The module is installed in the circuit connecting the fuel sensor to the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). Specific installation instructions will be received with the anti-slosh module.

PARTS INFORMATION

The anti-slosh module can be ordered through Pontiac Technical Assistance.
