Models Affected: 1992 FIREBIRD, GRAND PRIX AND TRANS SPORT MODELS


To improve product reliability, the models listed below will use a revised oil pressure gage for 1992. The gage will become an indicator, using a switch (rather than a sensor) and an in-line resistor, to indicate that the oil pressure is adequate, the same as a light would do. The service manuals (or update bulletins) and owner's manuals will contain the correct information for these vehicles.

Many of the vehicles affected by this change will start the 1992 model year with a conventional oil pressure gage, then change to the new indicator circuit after production starts.

Vehicles affected are:

Firebird with V-6 engine only.

Trans Sport with 3.1L engine only.

Grand Prix models.
