Antenna: Description and Operation
CIRCUIT OPERATION:
When the Radio is turned ON, voltage is applied through the PNK wire to the Antenna Relay coil. The Antenna Relay contacts close, and battery voltage is applied through the relay and the DK GRN wire to the Antenna Motor. The Antenna Motor is grounded through the UP Switch, the GRY wire and the relay contacts to G200. The motor drives the Antenna up. At the end of its travel, the UP Switch opens and the motor stops.
When the Radio or ignition is turned OFF, the Antenna Relay contacts open. Battery voltage is now applied through the open contacts of the relay, the WHT wire and the DOWN Switch to the Antenna Motor.
The Antenna Motor is now grounded through the DK GRN wire and the relay contacts to G200. The motor runs in the opposite direction and drives the Antenna down. At the end of its travel, the DOWN Switch opens, and the motor stops. The Antenna is connected to the Radio by a coaxial cable.
