Cargo Lamp: Description and Operation

CIRCUIT OPERATION:

HARD TOP

Battery voltage is applied at all times from the LID Fuse to the Cargo Compartment Light. The light is controlled by the Hatch Pull-Down/Release Unit switching the ground on or off.

When the hatch is opened, the "T" lever switch contacts in the Connector Switch Assembly close. The "T" lever switch completes the ground path and the Cargo Compartment Light lights.

When the hatch is pushed down the "T" lever switch contacts open. The ground path is opened and the Cargo Compartment Light goes out.



CONVERTIBLE

Battery voltage is applied at all times from the LID Fuse to the Cargo Compartment Light. The light is controlled by the Cargo Compartment Light Switch switching the ground on or off.

When the Deck Lid is opened, the Cargo Compartment Light Switch contacts close. The ground path is complete and the Cargo Compartment Light lights.

When the Deck lid is closed, the Cargo Compartment Light Switch contacts open. The ground path is opened and the Cargo Compartment Light goes out.
