Turn Lights on Indicator (Daytime Running Lights Only)
The Turn Lights On Indicator receives power with the Ignition Switch in "RUN" and receives ground through the many Tail Lights with the Headlight Switch in "OFF." The bulb used for the Turn Lights On Indicator has contained within its socket assembly a photocell along with some solid state electronics. When the Ignition Switch is in "RUN" and the ambient light is bright, the indicator is off. When the indicator's photocell sees low ambient light and the Headlight Switch is in "OFF," the indicator assembly's solid state electronics cause the bulb to flash. When the Headlight Switch is in "PARK" or "HEAD," battery voltage is applied to the ground side of the Turn Lights On Indicator assembly, removing its path to ground and causing the bulb to go out.
