THIS BULLETIN IS BEING REVISED TO ADD VIN BREAKPOINTS. THIS BULLETIN CANCELS AND REPLACES BULLETIN 92-10-55 ISSUED 7/92. PLEASE DISCARD BULLETIN 92-10-55.

Condition:

Some owners of 1992 Grand Am series may experience the front map lamp buttons binding or sticking upon actuation. The cars were built before the following VIN breakpoints:

Cause:

Inadequate clearance between the rear map lamp bezel snap legs and the button. When the map lamp is assembled into the storage box, the snap legs bind against the button preventing proper travel needed for the button.

Correction:

Remove the front map lamp and replace it following the 1992 Grand Am Service Manual. The service part numbers containing the design change are:

Vehicles built after 2/17/92 contain the correct front map lamps per product action authorization number 32I1080.
