REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Air cleaner.
2. Negative battery cable at battery.

CAUTION: Failing to disconnect the battery cable may result in an injury. If a tool is shorted at the generator lead, the tool will heat enough to cause a skin burn.

3. Serpentine belt.
4. Power steering clip and upper generator stud.
5. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
6. Right front tire and wheel assembly.
7. Right engine splash shield upper retaining clips and pull down shield.
8. Plastic outboard drive axle shield.
9. Generator rear brace retaining bolt and nut.
10. Generator rear brace, including cooling duct bracket.
11. Generator electrical connectors from generator.
12. Battery Positive lead and nut from generator output ("BAT") terminal.
13. Ball joint nut and separate control arm.
14. Right drive axle at transaxle.
15. Steel outboard drive axle shield.
16. Rear motor mount bracket brace retaining bolts with steel inboard drive axle shield attached.
17. Generator retaining upper stud and lower bolt.
18. Generator.



INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Generator to mounting bracket and loosely install mounting bolt and stud.

^ If replacement generator does not fit, remove adhesive-backed shim from generator bracket (see Figure).

Tighten
^ Generator lower mounting bolt to 50 Nm (37 ft lb).
^ Upper generator stud to 25 Nm (18 ft lb).

2. Rear motor mount bracket brace retaining bolts with steel inboard drive axle shield attached.
3. Steel outboard drive axle shield.
4. Right drive axle at transaxle.
5. Ball joint nut.
6. Generator electrical connectors to generator.
7. Battery positive lead and nut to generator output ("BAT") terminal. Tighten Nut to 8 Nm (71 in lb).
8. Generator rear brace, including cooling duct bracket, with retaining bolt and nut.


Tighten
^ Generator rear brace bolt to 25 Nm (18 ft lb).
^ Generator rear brace nut to 50 Nm (37 ft lb).

9. Plastic outboard drive axle shield.
10. Right engine splash shield and upper retaining clips.
11. Right front tire and wheel wheel assembly.
12. Lower vehicle.
13. Power steering clip and upper generator stud nut.
14. Serpentine belt.
15. Negative battery cable. Tighten Cable to 15 Nm (11 ft lb).
16. Air cleaner.
