Thermostat: Service and Repair

Fig. 17 Thermostat & Housing Assembly:

Refer to Fig. 17 when performing the following procedure.
1. Disconnect battery negative cable.
2. With engine cool, drain engine coolant below thermostat level. Never open cooling system with engine hot. Failure to follow this warning may cause personal injury.
3. Remove thermostat housing cap, then the thermostat.
4. Reverse procedure to install.
