Caliper removal is not required to replace shoe and linings.
1. Remove approximately 2/3 of brake fluid from master cylinder.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Mark relationship between front wheel and hub, then remove wheel and tire assembly.
4. Carefully drive pad retaining pins from inside out, Fig. 2.
5. Bottom piston into caliper bore using suitable pliers, then remove brake pads.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install brake pads with wear sensor to the piston side.
b. Ensure pads can be moved back and forth slightly when installed.
c. Install retaining pins from outside in, ensuring openings align.
d. Upon completion of installation, lower vehicle and pump brake pedal several times to properly position brake pads.
