Recently a new Cam Cover Gasket, P/N 90354545 replacing P/N 90323853 on 1988-92 LeMans with 1.6L engine was released for production for increased engine durability. The new gasket is polymer coated to prevent oil leakage at the gasket interface. Whenever it becomes necessary to replace the Cam Cover Gasket, the new polymer coated gasket should be used.

Gasket replacement should be performed according to the LeMans Service Manual procedure.

The new gasket is currently available from GMSPO.
