Radio/Stereo

Radio

The Radio receives voltage through four paths: 1) I/P Fuse Block Fuse 24 to the On-Off Switch; 2) I/P Fuse Block Fuse 11, which keeps the solid state clock and Radio station memory circuits alive when the Ignition Switch is turned OFF; 3) an Instrument Panel lamp voltage controlled by the Panel Lamp Dimming; and 4) a Dim Signal to dim the Radio station numbers when it is dark. This signal comes from I/P Fuse Block Fuse 21 when the Headlamps or Park Lamps are turned on.
The Radio On-Off Switch also switches battery voltage to operate the Power Antenna and Amplifier if equipped. The PPL/WHT (724) circuit sends dimming information to the Heater and A/C Control Assembly.

Sub Woofer Amplifier

Amplification of the sub woofers in the rear speakers is controlled by the Gain Control Switch. An 8 volt signal is supplied from the Amplifier to the Gain Control Switch potentiometer. This potentiometer allows an adjustable 2 to 6 volt feedback voltage to be applied to the gain input of the Amplifier. This voltage determines the amount of amplification the sub woofers receive.
