Powertrain Controls - ECM/PCM

Check that all pins are fully inserted into the socket. If OK, replace Mem-Cal, clear memory and re-check. If code 51 recurrs, replace PCM and Mem-Cal together.

NOTE: To prevent possible electrosatic discharge damage to the PCM or Mem-Cal, do not touch the component leads or circuit board with fingers. Do not attempt to remove integrated circuit from carrier. Check Technical service bullitins for special updates or superceded part numbers before installing a new Mem-Cal, to be sure the correct replacement & latest update part is used.
