Forced Entry System (RPO UA6)

FORCED ENTRY SYSTEM (RPO UA6)
When the Theft Deterrent System is armed, it automatically operates alarms. It sounds the vehicle horns, flashes the exterior lights, and interrupts the starter circuit. This happens when any of the doors are opened, or forced Entry Switches on the door locks or luggage compartment locks are closed.

ALARMS
The horn alarms are operated by the Horn Relay. The coil of this relay is grounded by the Remote Accessory Control (RAC) Module. When the relay contacts close, battery voltage is supplied to the horns. The RAC Module then opens the relay coil circuit to turn off the alarms. The alarms will pulse on and off every second for 2 to 4 minutes after the system has been triggered by tampering or forced entry.
The light alarms are operated by the Light Control Module. The Headlights Alarm Input of the Light Control Module is grounded by the Headlights Alarm Output of the Remote Accessory Control Module. The Remote Accessory Control Module will open and close the Headlights Alarm Output every second for 2 to 4 minutes after the system has been triggered by tampering or forced entry.

ARMING
The arming sequence begins when the Ignition Switch is turned off. This removes battery voltage at terminal B (C1), the Ignition ON Input. If either Front Door Lock Switch is moved to LOCK with at least one door open, momentary battery voltage is applied at terminal E (C2), the Arm Input. At the same time, the open door places a ground at terminal C (C1). The arming sequence is completed by closing the last door, which removes the ground signal from terminal C (C1).

CANCELLATION
The arming sequence can be cancelled by moving a Front Door Lock Switch to the UNLOCK position before the door is closed to complete the arming of the system. Battery voltage is applied momentarily to terminal A (C2) with the Door Lock Switch in UNLOCK. This cancels the arming.

DISARMING
When one of the doors is unlocked with a key, a grounding switch in the Front Door Lock Cylinder closes. This grounds terminal A (C3) of the controller, the Key Unlock Input. The system is disarmed and no alarms will operate when a door is opened.

TAMPERING
The alarms are set off when terminal B (C3), the Tamper Switch Input, is grounded. The Door Jamb Switches close, grounding the Tamper Switch Input when any door is open. In addition, the Forced Entry Switches close when there is motion between a door and the trunk, and the door's switch. This happens when a door lock is forced or removed. The Forced Entry Switches then ground the Tamper Switch Input and set off the alarms.
