The High Pressure A/C cut-out switch opens when the high side pressure gets to high, interrupting the A/C request signal from the control head. With no request signal, the PCM opens the A/C relay ground circuit, disengaging the compressor to prevent damage to A/C system components. This switch opens when the pressure is greater than about 440 psi.
