This bulletin replaces the DTC 26 Diagnostic Chart (Pages 2 of 3 and 3 of 3) in Section 6E3, "Driveability and Emissions". The revised charts address the possibility of a faulty hot light circuit or cluster causing DTC 26 to set. Note that vehicles not equipped with a hot light (UB3, U2A, or UB7 clusters) have a resistor installed in the cluster to pull up the QDM driver circuit and simulate a hot light bulb; thus a faulty gage cluster may cause DTC 26 to set.

To check the resistor, disconnect cluster connector(s). Check resistance between the following cluster connector pins:

- Oldsmobile with UB7 or U2A Cluster - Measure resistance between connector C2 pins "Al6" and "B16" - should measure around 3.6k ohms. If not, replace cluster.

- Pontiac - The revised charts address the possibility of a faulty hot light circuit causing DTC 26 to set.
