Dashboard / Instrument Panel: Service and Repair
1. Remove both sound insulator assemblies.2. Remove removable top assembly, then window rail trim panel assembly.
3. Remove knee bolster assembly and deflector.
4. Remove stop lamp switch before fully lowering the steering column assembly. Failure to do so may cause the stop lamp switch to be damaged or thrown out of adjustment resulting in a malfunctioning stop lamp switch or premature brake failure.
5. Fully, gently lower steering column.
6. Remove trim panel and trim plate assemblies.
7. Remove bezel and instrument cluster assemblies.
8. Remove radio and temperature control assemblies.
9. Remove left side duct assemblies.
10. Remove transmission gear shift knob, cover and console assemblies.
11. Remove fuse block, then disconnect assembly line data link connector (ALDL).
12. Remove hazard and chime assembly.
13. Remove upper bolts and screws, lower nuts and reposition carrier.
14. Remove air duct and audio alarm assemblies.
15. Disconnect wiring harness from carrier, then remove carrier.
16. Reverse procedure to install.
