Throttle Body: Service and Repair

Throttle Body Identification:

An eight digit part identification number is stamped on the side of the throttle body casting. Refer to this number if servicing, or part replacement is required.

Throttle Body Assembly:

Throttle Body Removal And Installation:

Remove or Disconnect:
1. Remove negative battery cable
2. Partially drain cooling system to allow hoses at throttle body to be removed.
3. Remove air intake duct
4. Disconnect electrical connectors from TP sensor and IAC valve
5. Vacuum harness connector from throttle body
6. Disconnect accelerator control cables
7. Disconnect coolant hoses from throttle body
8. Remove throttle body attaching bolts
9. Remove throttle body assembly and flange gasket, discard gasket

Install or Connect:
1. Install throttle body assembly with new flange gasket
2. Tighten throttle body attaching bolts
Torque Value: 27 N-m (20 lb.ft.)
3. Connect coolant hoses to throttle body
4. Install accelerator control cables
5. Connect vacuum harness connector
6. Connect electrical connectors to TP sensor and IAC valve
7. Install air intake assembly
8. Fill radiator
9. Connect negative battery cable
