POWER STEERING RESERVOIR CAP SEEPAGE (REPLACE CAP)

Models Affected:
1993 FIREBIRD MODELS WITH 3.4L ENGINE (RPO L32)

CONDITION:

Some 1993 Firebird models with 3.4L V-6 engines (RPO L32), and assembled prior to VIN breakpoint P2211639 may exhibit a slight seepage of power steering fluid from between the pump reservoir and reservoir cap. This condition is apt to occur when the vehicle is operated in an aggressive manner and would appear as a slight wetting on the reservoir body.

CAUSE:

Power steering fluid slosh results in fluid migration past the cap seal and wetting of the reservoir body.

CORRECTION:

Replace existing power steering pump reservoir cap with new cap, P/N 26009893.
