Using Charging Station J-23500-01 or Equivalent
REFRIGERANT CHARGING WITH STATION1. Set the charging system to the EXACT Required charge.
2. Open the valve and allow the refrigerant to flow into the low side of the system. If needed, the refrigerant tank may need to be heated (with built-in heater, if equipped) to assist in charging.
3. Turn off the refrigerant source valve. Run the engine for 30 seconds to clear lines and gages.
4. With the engine running, remove the low-side charging hose adapter from the service fitting. Unscrew it rapidly to avoid excessive refrigerant loss from the system.
WARNING: Never remove a gage line from its adapter when the line is connected to the A/C System. Always remove the line adapter from the service fitting to disconnect a line. Do not remove the charging hose at the gage set while it is attached. This will result in the system being completely discharged, because the Schrader-type valve in the low-side service fitting is fully depressed. Complete discharge may cause personal injury due to escaping refrigerant.
5. Replace the protective cap on the fitting.
6. Turn off the engine.
7. Check the system for leaks using electronic leak detector J-39400 or equivalent.
8. Start the engine.
9. With system fully charged and checked for leaks, make a system performance check.
