This bulletin updates the DTC 22 Chart on page A-45 in Section 6E3, Driveability and Emissions. The 5 volt reference circuit 416 at PCM terminal "BA4" and the 5 volt reference circuit 416 at PCM terminal "BA5" are internally connected within the PCM. If a grounded 5 volt reference circuit condition exists at either PCM terminal "BA4" or "BA5", Code 22 may set. Before replacing the PCM, check for the following conditions:
^ Circuit 416 between PCM terminal "BA5" and the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor for a short to chassis ground or engine ground.
^ Circuit 416 (PCM terminal "BA5") for a short to the sensor ground circuit 452 (PCM terminal "BB6").
^ Disconnect the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor and retest. If the Code 22 condition does not exist with the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor disconnected, replace the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor.
