Discolored or Stained Inserts in Side Moldings (Replace with Rear Fascia insert)

Condition

Some owners may comment on side molding inserts becoming discolored or stained.

Cause

This condition may occur from continued direct sunlight.

Correction

To correct this condition, it is necessary to replace the side molding inserts with rear fascia insert, P/N 22552498, (red) or 22646918 (bright) cut to fit, following the procedure below.

1. Remove inserts from side molding on fender, door(s) and rear quarter.

2. Remove all traces of adhesive from side molding insert cavity with 3M� General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner or equivalent.

3. Cut rear fascia insert to the proper sizes needed and seal ends of inserts with Kent Leak Check Clear Sealer, P/N 10200, or equivalent.

4. Install inserts into side molding insert cavity and press firmly in place.
