Disassemble and Assemble

DISASSEMBLE
1. Remove retaining ring and lip seal, Fig. 21 .
2. Using split plate No. J-22912-1, or equivalent, behind inner slinger, press shaft from bearing.
3. Remove retainer from support screws.
4. Using replacer No. J-23694, or equivalent, press bearing from support.


ASSEMBLE
1. Press bearing into support using press arbor plate across bearing.
2. Using split plate tool No. J-22912-1, or equivalent, press inner slinger on shaft.
3. Install retainer over shaft.
4. Place support with bearing on press arbor plate and press shaft into bearing until bearing inner race contacts chamfer on shaft.

CAUTION: Do not press bearing beyond where chamfer begins on shaft.

5. Using split plate, press outer slinger on shaft.
6. Apply sealer to outer slinger and shaft joint, then install lip seal using seal installer tool No. J-34115, or equivalent.
7. Install retaining ring.
8. Install retainer to support. Tighten to specifications
