DIAGNOSIS
Use the following troubleshooting hints, system check and associated diagnostic charts, electrical schematics and component location chart to assist in diagnosing the universal theft deterrent system.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS

Diagnostic Preparation
Before beginning any operation check, make sure the following components and circuits work properly:
^ Parking lamps.
^ Low beam headlamps.
^ Horn.
^ Electrical door locks.

Make sure the headlamps and parking lamps are off. Open a window in order to unlock the door without using a key. The SECURITY indicator should not be on while performing these steps.
^ NOTE: For No Crank or No Start condition, refer to PASS-Key II(R) diagnosis. Testing and Inspection
^ Try the following checks before doing the System Check":
1. Check I/P fuse block fuse 1D, and relay center fuse 2 and fuse 3 by visual inspection.
2. When an intermittent problem exists, check applicable connectors for proper terminal contact, refer to Intermittents and Poor Connections.
