Troubleshooting Hints - Charging System

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS
1. Check battery hydrometer eye before troubleshooting Charging System.
- Green eye - battery is charged.
- Dark eye - battery is discharged. Recharge battery.
- Clear or yellow eye - battery fluid is low. Replace battery.
2. Check that generator BAT terminal and connector terminals are clean and tight.
3. Check generator belt.
4. Check that battery connections are clean and tight.
5. Check I/P fuse block Fuse 1D when VOLT indicator or CHECK GAGES message with engine outline tell tale does not light with ignition switch in RUN position and engine stopped.
