Air Injection Pump Relay: Description and Operation

Secondary Air Injection System Circuit:

PURPOSE
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls operation of the electric air pump relay which in turn controls air availability to the air injection system.

OPERATION
The PCM completes the ground to the coil side of the relay. The relay in turn activates the electric air pump and the integral stop valve.
