Troubleshooting Hints

Perform before beginning System Diagnosis
1. Check DR LK Fuse.
2. Check CTSY Fuse by operating the I/P Compartment Light.
3. Check DR UNLK Fuse.
4. Check for mechanical binds in the Door Lock System.
5. If one or more of the Door Lock Motors do not operate properly but the other Door Lock Motors function normally, check the wiring to the motors. If the wiring is OK, replace the motor.
6. If CTSY Fuse blows when a power Door Lock Switch is activated, check CKT 194, CKT 195, Door Unlock Module and Multi-function Alarm Module for a short to ground.
7. If a motor's internal circuit breaker trips, it will not reset until voltage is removed from the motor.

9. If LH Front Door Lock is the only inoperative lock, and the vehicle is equipped with the Keyless Entry Feature, refer to Keyless Entry for diagnosis. Keyless Entry

NOTE:
^ Automatic Door Lock features are controlled by the Multi-function Alarm Module. Verify that all chime alarms operate, refer to Audible Warnings Device and that the Illuminated Entry feature operate, refer to Lighting and Horns before diagnosing any Automatic Door Lock problems. ^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check refer to Diagnostic Aids. Diagnostic Aids
