Front Camber Adjustment

CAMBER

Toe setting is the only adjustment normally required. However, in special circumstances, such as damage due to road hazard or collision, camber angle, Fig.1 , may be adjusted by modifying strut assembly.
1. If strut is on vehicle, disconnect strut from steering knuckle. If strut is off vehicle, secure bottom of strut assembly in a suitable vise.
2. Enlarge bottom holes in outer flanges with a round file, until holes in outer flanges match slots in inner flanges, Fig.2 .
3. Install or connect strut to steering knuckle and install bolts finger tight.
4. Grasp top of tire firmly, then move tire inboard or outboard until correct camber reading is obtained. Tighten retaining bolts enough to secure camber setting.
5. Remove wheel and tire assembly, if necessary, then torque strut to steering knuckle retaining bolts to 133 ft. lbs.
