Troubleshooting Hints

Perform before beginning System Diagnosis
1. Check the ALARM Fuse by operating the Cigar lighter.
2. The Multi-function Alarm Module that controls the Seat Belt Retractor Solenoids also controls Interior Lights, refer to Interior Lights. For the complete schematic refer to Audible Warning Device.
3. Check that the Multi-function Alarm Module is properly seated.
4. If key-in-ignition, lights-on, fasten belts chime or Fasten Belts Indicator does not operate, refer to Audible Warning Device.
5. If Fasten Belts Indicator is not operating properly, refer to Audible Warning Device.

NOTE:
^ Automatic Seat Belt Feature is controlled by the Multi-function Alarm Module. Verify that all chime alarms operate, refer to Audible Warning Device and that the Illuminated Entry feature, refer to Interior Lights operate before diagnosing any Automatic Seat Belt problem. ^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check refer to Diagnostic Aids Diagnostic Aids
