Disabling Theft Deterrent

To Disable the Theft Deterrent:

Following these steps will place the unit in the UNSECURED mode. In the UNSECURED mode, the unit will remain operable if battery power is interrupted and then reapplied. The unit may be resecured with a new user-selected code if desired.

1. Depress presets 1 (PREV) and 4 (dolby or COMP) for five seconds with ignition on and radio power off. The display will show "SEC", indicating the unit is in the secure mode.
2. Depress the HR or MIN button. The display will indicate "000".
3. The first 1 1/2 digits of the backup code are re-entered by pressing HR.
4. The right two digits of the backup code are entered by pressing MIN.
5. Depress the AM/FM button. If the display shows "---", the disabling sequence was successful. If the display shows "SEC", the numbers did not match either the user or backup code and the unit remains in the SECURE mode.
