Enabling Theft Deterrent

To Enable the Theft Deterrent:

1. Depress presets 1 (PREV) and 4 (Dolby or COMP) for five seconds with ignition on and radio power off. The display will show "---", indicating the unit is not in the secure mode.
2. Initial key press of HR or MIN will cause the display to indicate "OOO", the last three digits of the 3 1/2-digit user code.
3. The left 1 1/2 digits of the user code are entered by pressing HR. The display will show the numbers as entered.
4. Enter the right two digits of the user code by depressing MIN.
5. Depress AM/FM. The display will show "REP" indicating that some steps are to be repeated for verification.
6. This is the first step of the verification sequence. Re-enter the 3 1/2-digit user code according to step 3.
7. Repeat step 4 to re-enter the right two digits.
8. Depress AM/FM. If the display shows "SEC" the verification was successful and the system is in the SECURE mode. If the display shows "---". the verification steps were not successful and the entire sequence must be started anew.
