Troubleshooting Hints - Interior Lights Dimming

1. Make sure Park Lamps turn "ON" and "OFF" normally before proceeding with diagnostic; refer to Exterior Lights for Park Lamp diagnosis. Testing and Inspection
2. If none of the Interior Lamps illuminate, check PARK LPS Fuse.
3. If Interior Lamps stay "ON" all the time, but Park Lamps operate normally, repair short to B+ in CKT 8.
4 If one Interior Lamp does not operate, check the GRY and BLK wires to suspect Interior Lamp for opens, bent terminals, etc. If OK, replace Interior Lamp bulb (see schematic).
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. The circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems (refer to General Troubleshooting Procedures). Diagnostic Aids
