Diagnostic System Check
Transaxle Harness Connector:
The diagnosis of the [1][2]Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) system is covered in Chart C-8A.
If the PCM detects a problem with the Vehicle speed Sensor (VSS) signal, DTC P0501 / P0502 should set. In this case, refer to DTC P0501 / P0502 chart.
If the PCM doesn't switch the TCC "ON" when it should while driving, but the TCC solenoid activates using the Tech 1 under "Misc. Test," then sensors such as engine coolant temperature, vehicle speed, and throttle position should be checked.
Diagnosis of the shift solenoids is covered in Chart C-8B.
If any of the following diagnostic trouble codes are set, TCC may not be allowed to engage and transaxle shifting may be incorrect. Repair any existing diagnostic trouble codes and then recheck TCC or shift control.
